Wellman Max
Wellman Max is the most complete option in the Wellman range, supplied as a triple pack. It combines advanced vitamin and mineral tablets, Omega 3-6-9 capsules, and calcium and vitamin D tablets, covering micronutrients, essential fatty acids and bone support in one daily routine.
How it works
Each of the three components addresses something the others do not. The vitamin and mineral tablet covers the micronutrients behind normal energy release, immune function and fertility. The omega capsules supply fatty acids including DHA, which contributes to normal brain function and vision, and which come mainly from oily fish. The calcium and vitamin D tablet pairs the mineral with the vitamin that governs its absorption, since calcium taken without adequate vitamin D is poorly absorbed and the two are far more useful together than apart.
How to use it
Take each component daily as set out on the pack, with or just after your main meal and with water or a cold drink. Taking them with food reduces the chance of a fishy aftertaste from the omega capsules and of stomach upset from calcium. Take them consistently, since supplements work through steady intake rather than occasional use.
Who it is for
It is for adult men wanting the broadest coverage in the range, including bone support. The omega component is fish oil based, so it is not suitable if you are allergic to fish and is not a vegetarian product. Men over 50 may also want to look at Wellman 50+.
Safety and when to get advice
Calcium can reduce the absorption of some medicines, including certain antibiotics and thyroid medicine, so tell a pharmacist what you take and ask about spacing doses. Mention omega-3 before any planned surgery and if you take anticoagulants. Do not take additional calcium or vitamin D supplements alongside without checking.
