Description

Beechams MAX Strength All-in-One Capsules

Beechams MAX Strength All in One is a combination cold and flu product for adults, covering several symptoms in a single dose. Supplied in a pack of 16, it is aimed at the aches, headache, blocked nose and cough that tend to arrive together with a cold.

How it works

Combination cold and flu products pair a painkiller and fever reducer with a decongestant, and in all in one formats a cough ingredient as well. The painkiller component eases headache, sore throat and body aches and brings a temperature down, while the decongestant narrows swollen blood vessels in the nose so that breathing feels easier.

How to use it

Follow the dosing on the pack and leave the stated interval between doses. Do not exceed the maximum in 24 hours. These products contain paracetamol, so check every other medicine you take, including painkillers, hot drinks and night time remedies, to be sure you are not taking paracetamol twice from different packs.

Who it is for

It is for adults and, where the pack states, older children with cold and flu symptoms. It is not suitable alongside other paracetamol containing products, and people with high blood pressure, heart problems, an overactive thyroid, glaucoma or prostate problems should check with a pharmacist first because of the decongestant.

Safety and when to get advice

Taking more paracetamol than the stated maximum can cause serious liver damage even when you feel well, so stay within the dose on the pack and seek immediate medical advice if too much is taken. See a doctor if symptoms last more than a few days, if a high fever persists, or if you become breathless or confused. Our UK pharmacy team can answer questions about this product before you buy.

Common questions

Can I take it with other painkillers?
Not with other paracetamol containing products. Ask a pharmacist before combining anything.

How long should I use it?
Short term, for the duration of the cold. Get advice if symptoms continue beyond a few days.

Will it cure the cold?
No. It eases symptoms while your immune system clears the infection.

Always read the patient information leaflet supplied with the pack before use.
