Description

Azithromycin is an antibiotic medication that is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. It belongs to a class of antibiotics known as macrolides, which work by preventing bacteria from producing the proteins they need to survive. Azithromycin is commonly used to treat respiratory tract infections, such as bronchitis and pneumonia, as well as skin and soft tissue infections, such as impetigo and cellulitis. It can also be used to treat sexually transmitted infections, such as chlamydia and gonorrhea. Azithromycin is available in its' oral form and can be taken once or twice a day, depending on the type of infection being treated. This medication is generally well tolerated and can be an effective treatment option for those suffering from bacterial infections.
