Description

Abidec Multivitamin Drops

Abidec Multivitamin Drops are a daily liquid supplement providing essential vitamins to support baby and child growth, measured out with the dropper supplied. The formulation contains peanut oil, which is stated clearly on the pack and matters for any family managing a peanut allergy.

How it works

The drops supply vitamins including A, C and D in a form that is easy to give to a child who is not yet taking tablets. Vitamin D supports normal bone development and is the one most commonly short in UK children because it is made in the skin from sunlight and little is obtained from food. Vitamins A and C support normal immune function and the maintenance of healthy skin and tissue.

How to use it

Shake the bottle and measure the dose with the dropper provided, following the pack for your child's age. The drops can be given directly or mixed into a little food or milk if that is easier. Give them at about the same time each day, and replace the cap tightly and store as directed on the pack.

Who it is for

They are for babies and children in the age range printed on the pack. They are not suitable for any child with a peanut allergy, and they should not be combined with other vitamin supplements without advice, since vitamin A in particular should not be doubled up.

Safety and when to get advice

Do not exceed the stated dose. Speak to a pharmacist or health visitor before starting if your child takes any other supplement or medicine, or if your child was born prematurely or has a medical condition. Seek urgent medical help for any sign of an allergic reaction. Our UK pharmacy team can answer questions about this product before you buy.

Common questions

Why does it contain peanut oil?
Peanut oil is used as a carrier for the fat soluble vitamins. Do not use it if your child has a peanut allergy.

Can it be mixed with milk or food?
Yes, mixing the dose into a small amount of food or milk is fine if that makes it easier to give.

Does my child need vitamin drops at all?
UK guidance recommends vitamin supplementation for many young children. A health visitor or pharmacist can advise for your child.

Always read the information supplied with the pack before use.
