Rightangled reaches Crowdcube funding cap

Rightangled, a health technology company regulated by the Care Quality Commission, announced the completion of a crowdfunding campaign raised to provide working capital for demand for its COVID-19 testing kits during the early stage of the pandemic.

Launched on Friday 8 May 2020, the campaign reached its initial £50,000 target within an hour. It continued to overfund, reaching the £500,000 cap on Tuesday 19 May before closing the following day.

What the funding was for

The funds raised were intended to support expansion of the team, including senior hires in marketing and machine learning at the company's London offices, and to establish a new category of blood biomarker testing — positioning Rightangled as a hub for screening and diagnostic services.

Abdullah Sabyah, CEO of Rightangled, said at the time:

"Rightangled continues to grow from strength to strength. We have fulfilled bulk orders for clinics, pharmacies, charities and care homes across the UK and are now receiving quote requests for larger orders from major corporations. This is why it was important that we raise the working capital to deliver on this demand.

For our next phase, we aim to expand our products, offering a range of blood biomarker tests, and continue our growth. We are also looking to launch our app and create a central system to give tailored health, diet and fitness guidance based on our users' sample results and self-reported health information."
